2018 – 2019 School Year Openings:

Finance Assistant

Hermon School Department seeking qualified applicants for a Finance Assistant position. This is a full-time (40 hours/week), year-round position.

Candidates must possess or be eligible for Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) approval.

This position will be responsible for payroll and other duties.

Applicants should have at least an Associate Degree and/or experience in payroll, accounting and Excel. Experience with ADS Sequel preferred.

Anticipated Vacancy

High School English Teacher

Candidates must possess or be eligible for Maine Department of Education Teacher certification (endorsement 100 English/Language Arts, 7-12) and Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification.

Master’s degree preferred.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of current research and best practice. 
  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of workshop model of instruction.
  • Excels at using data to inform instruction and accelerate learning.
  • Demonstrates the ability to implement technology into lesson design.
  • Excels at communicating with parents about student progress.

Twenty-five (25) hours per week

Morning and afternoon runs

$17.00 per hour with sick leave and health insurance benefits

Must pass a physical exam and drug test

Substitute Teacher Openings
Hermon School Department is seeking substitute teachers for the 2018-2019 school year who have the ability to work positively with staff, and students. Candidates should possess strong oral and written communication skills, organizational and interpersonal skills, and be dedicated to meeting the academic and social needs of each child.

Candidates must hold current CHRC authorization through State of Maine Department of Education.

This is a substitute position. This position does not provide benefits.
